License
Photo Use Terms
When you purchase a photo from Rocklanding Adventures, you receive a non-exclusive license to use that image. I retain copyright; you get clear permission to use it under one of the tiers below.
Tier 1
Personal Use
A personal license covers non-commercial, private use of the image. This is the default when you purchase a photo from an event gallery.
What's included
- Social media posts on your personal accounts
- Phone and computer wallpapers
- Prints for your home or as gifts
- Sharing with friends and family
What's not included
- Advertising, marketing, or promotional material
- Reselling the image or using it in products for sale
- Monetized content where the image is the primary draw
Credit is always appreciated (tag @rocklanding.adventures) but not required for personal use.
Tier 2
Commercial Use
If any of the following apply, you need a commercial license. Contact me to discuss usage and pricing — it is usually straightforward.
- Promoting a business, brand, product, or service
- Sponsored or paid posts where a brand provides product or compensation
- Trade show displays, packaging, or merchandise
- Business website, dealership listing, or editorial for pay
Gray area: Club or non-profit use is personal if truly non-promotional, but counts as commercial when it involves fundraising or brand promotion. When in doubt, ask — I would rather clarify upfront than sort it out later.
Need Commercial Use?
Send me a short note describing how you plan to use the image. Most commercial licenses are simple and fast to set up.
